Unbelievable, buy from other companies…
The first company that can’t track their orders, never knew it would be possible. First and last time ordering from them, I recommend you to buy from another company because this? No man

If I could give 0 stars I would
If I could give 0 stars I would. Kit received relatively quickly and mailed back in the UK on 10 May Several contacts with customer service and kit finally tracks on 31 May - so they sat on it for 3 weeks before handing over to FedEx. Kit arrives in the US two days later - and is then stalled in customs for 17 days because 23Andme haven’t provided the right paperwork. Escalations to CEO unanswered, eventually get some kind of response from COO. *Finally* delivered to the lab on 22 June, over 6 weeks since mailing. Apparently can be another two weeks for “accessioning” (ie opening the box!). Customer service give canned responses and cannot suck more. Executives don’t care. Logistics clearly a shambles. Looks like it’ll be minimum another month before I get my results. When I used ancestryDNA I had my results within a month of sending in sample. Absolutely bloody terrible. Will never use again or recommend to anyone.

Started off with so much promise but…
Started off with so much promise but 4-5 weeks and still in transit. Not even regular updates. Find a better provider.

2 months and no results
Waited 2 months after sending my kit and still no results. Apparently they never received it. My fiancé shipped his at the same time/day from the same place and his was received. Even for him, he needed to email and check after 1.5 months of his kit not being “received” and after that email, they magically “received” it and processed in a couple of days. Looks like they do not have proper management of their shipments…which is extremely negligible considering orders contain customers’ DNA and other personal information. Would avoid and shop at other competitors, unless you’re happy to wait 2+ months for results.

No results, just more money
23 and me will not allow you to see your result, unless you sign up for a lifetime subscription service. Even if you prepay: the results you *already paid for* are not accessible. You must first agree to be billed continually, for as long and as much as they want. It's like buying a small timeshare. Just a Bunch Of Crooks. I paid $187, in advance, and they would not show me my results.

Just not worth the time and effort
Just not worth the time and effort. Have send two samples and it took them in total 4months to tell me that each time, they couldnt extract anything. They then offer a refund on the proviso you dont use them again. Well I didnt use you the first time because you dont know what you’re doing. Customer service is terrible as well

23andMe's Ancestry Composition report only.
This company is heavy in the health traits business. I'm into the genealogy side and only use 23andMe just for the ethnicity reports and DNA matches. I was very much impressed that they pinpointed the exact regions in two of the countries matching my family tree. Also I'm impressed with 23andMe, along with Genomelink, and youDNAportal for having my Iberian and African results as well. FamilyTreeDNA and MyHeritage got it partially correct. Shame on Ancestry after numerous years of mostly useless updates. 23andMe, although they are off on some of the percentage amounts estimated, they are in the ballpark.

I was gifted the full 23 and me service…
I was gifted the full 23 and me service including the family tree x which a was excited to use and I believe it was quite expensive. The dna (saliva) sample took over a month to be processed (it seemed to get stuck in transit) The data they appear to use is very limited. No historical births, deaths data is used - instead it relies on your family have paid to have their dna tested. The result - and empty family tree - not even having a clue as to my parents - and no tools either. Furthermore I have a reasonable understand of the past few generations. I have English, French and Indian in the last few generations. It believed I had a chance of british (I had said I was bristling in the info I gave) but found no English DNA. It said there was a high chance of French or German but no French. Indian hay family is from near Calcutta was not found. Not impressed at all

You have to take the results with humor...
You have to take the results and the associated waste of money with humor. At least you get your haplogroup and can upload your data to other providers, which deliver more accurate results despite much smaller databases. I had already done tests with other providers. Ancestry has so far been the most accurate, although they also had some nonsense, which others have not found. 23andMe tops even MyHeritage, which also had no clue. My family comes from southern Germany. For generations. 23andMe wants to tell me that I have Finnish, Italian, Jewish, Eastern European, Sudanese and Indian ancestry in addition to my German ancestry. No other test was come close to finding such nonsense. Ancestry is half the price and more accurate. So if you absolutely want to do a DNA test, you should go to other providers.

Nothing wrong with 23/me, BUT be ready
Nothing wrong with 23/me. But be ready for results which can upend your life. A VERY close relative contacted-oldest brother fathered a child in college. The Phd always honest hero of the family lied, and denied. His daughter is a super achiever just like him...a regular contributor on CNN. He refused to meet her. One sister and I welcomed her into the family and she visited. Family resemblance undeniable. Great person!! Brother cut off all contact for life with sister and I. Very sad, and ashamed of my brother who still denied. Then she found her birth mom who named my brother as the father. Silence from him. All endings are not happy.

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH VAGUE RESULTS
Absolutely dissatisfied. I feel it is all bunk! My grandfather was 100% German, however, only reported I was 4.1% of German decent. NOTHING about my health risks, inherited possible diseases/disorders such as dementia which my mother had. You are wasting your money and time buying this. It also took FOREVER to even get the vague results I received. I would give it ZERO stars, but I had to put one or I couldn’t write my review. VERY disappointed!!

One big upsell
One big upsell! Having paid a premium price already they: 1 Want more money for the "premium" reports 2 They "could not determine" the most important questions. Complete waste of money.

Using snails to deliver samples, really?
I'm giving it three stars for now and will update you later once I’ll have the results. I liked how quickly I received the kit and how straightforward it was to take the sample and send it out. Two stars off because I don’t understand what takes them to deliver a small package for 2-3 weeks??? Are they using snails or turtles to deliver samples? Hopefully, the results won’t disappoint but we’ll see.
